Claire Waxman, Victims’ Commissioner for London, has written to the Information Commissioner, Elizabeth Denham, regarding the disclosure process in rape cases.

Her concern is that disclosure process in rape cases are currently grounded in an unlawful basis of ‘consent’.

The letter runs:

I am writing to you, with the support of a number of organisations who are listed below, in relation to recent findings regarding the rights of victims of rape in the criminal justice process, which we wish to bring to your attention for investigation.
